There are a number casinos in the state, most on moored river boats. The biggest of the Iowa gambling halls is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, an Indian casino in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of gambling room, 1,500 slot machines, thirty table games, such as vingt-et-un, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and several varieties of poker; as well as three restaurants, bimonthly shows, and gaming classes. An additional large American Indian casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. In addition, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs never closes, with 38,500 sq.ft., 1,589 one armed bandits, 36 table games, and four dining rooms. There are several other dominant Iowa gambling halls, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slots, and 39 table games.
A smaller Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a water based gambling hall in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 slots, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend water based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 slot machines, and 14 table games. Another Iowa water based casino, The Isle of Capri, is available all hours, with 24,939 sq.ft., 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot water based gambling den in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live entertainment, and Thursday 21 matches.
Iowa casinos provide an exceptional deal of tax money to the state government of Iowa, which has allowed the budgeting of many commonwealth wide projects. Tourism has increased at a rapid rate along with the request for companies and an increase in working people. Iowa casinos have contributed to the expansion of the economy, and the enthusiasm for gaming in Iowa is widespread.
