• Cambodia Gambling Halls

There is a fascinating history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the dividing line from next door Thailand, where casino betting is prohibited. Eight casinos are based in a generally tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent location, a 3 to 4 hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two biggest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a thriving business with Thai blue-collar workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a couple of Westerners. The amazing capital acquired from the casinos ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a couple of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is presumed to be largely Thai; however, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 17:00, and even though visas are supposedly necessary to pass, there are ways around this, as is real of many borders.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were forced to close in 1998, leaving only 1 gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a stationary barge gambling den, highlights one hundred and fifty slot machines and 60 tables. The Naga river boat is open 24 hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of chemin de fer, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown before long opened. A total of one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort contains three hundred slots and seventy tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slots and 66 of the normal gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the 8 gambling halls in Poipet, also in a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slots and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel complex that contains many luxuries accompanying the casino, which contains 10,000 sq.ft. of 130 slots and 88 gaming tables.
