There are a number gambling dens in the commonwealth, the biggest number being on moored barges. The grandest of the Iowa gambling dens is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, a Native American casino in Tama, with 127,669 square feet of casino area, 1,500 slot machines, thirty table games, like 21, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and numerous types of poker; as well as three eatery’s, bimonthly productions, and betting lessons. Another large Amerindian casino is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 sq.ft., 668 slot machines, and 14 table games. In addition, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is open 24 hours, with 38,500 sq.ft., 1,589 slot machines, 36 table games, and four dining rooms. There are numerous other dominant Iowa gambling dens, which includes Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 square feet, 1,212 slot machines, and 39 table games.
A smaller Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a river based gambling hall in Dubuque, with 17,813 square feet, 776 slot machines, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend Riverboat, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. An additional Iowa riverboat casino, The Isle of Capri, is available all hours, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 slot machines, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot paddle wheel boat gambling hall in Clinton, has 506 slot machines, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday blackjack events.
Iowa casinos offer an excellent amount of tax income to the government of Iowa, which has allowed the budgeting of a good many commonwealth wide projects. Visitors have increased at an accelerated rate along with the request for processors and an increase in employment.
